Designed by Beth on Australia’s Central Coast, Mahala brings together earthy tones, natural textures and a love of making things by hand. Each design considers shape, comfort and the small details that give a piece its character, from crochet swirls to hand-wrapped stones.

We choose natural materials wherever possible, working with cotton crochet, leather, labradorite and wooden beads. Practical details, such as elasticated straps in our swimwear, bring comfort and flexibility to our handmade designs.

Our pieces bring together Beth’s own making with the skills of crochet artisans in Bali, micro-macramé makers in Anhui, China, and leather artisans in East Java. We produce in small batches, valuing the time and hands behind each piece. Subtle variations in texture, colour and detailing are welcomed as part of what makes handmade work unique.
